Heavy Duty Towing
& Rotator Recovery

When a loaded unit goes down on a grade, in a ditch or across two lanes, the recovery plan matters more than the horsepower. We have been rigging these jobs in West Virginia since 1935.

What We Move

If It Rolls, We Can Recover It

Our heavy fleet is rated for loaded commercial vehicles, and our operators are TRAA certified. We are members of the Towing and Recovery Association of America and the West Virginia Towing and Recovery Association.

That matters on a heavy job because the difference between a clean recovery and an expensive one is entirely in how the unit gets rigged before anything starts pulling.

  • Tractor-trailers, loaded or empty
  • Dump trucks & mixers
  • Buses & motorcoaches
  • Motorhomes & RVs
  • Box trucks & straight trucks
  • Construction & farm equipment
  • Containers & intermodal chassis
  • Fire apparatus & municipal fleet

Heavy Dispatch

Have this ready if you can: unit type, gross weight, whether it is loaded, what the load is, road and mile marker, and whether it is blocking a lane.

Heavy Capability

Equipment For The Hard Jobs

Recovery gear is only useful if it is on a truck that can reach the scene. Our heavy units are set up for narrow West Virginia roads, not just interstate shoulders.

Rotator Service

A rotating boom can pick and place from almost any angle, so we can work a unit off a berm or out of a creek without repositioning on a blind curve.

Rollovers

Uprighting a loaded trailer is a rigging problem first. Done right, the trailer often goes back in service instead of to a salvage yard.

Winch Outs & Off-Road

Mud, snow, soft shoulders and embankments. Multi-point pulls when a straight line would put the unit into something worse.

Load Shifts & Transfers

Restack and re-secure a shifted load, or transfer it to a fresh trailer so the freight keeps its delivery window.

Decking & Un-decking

Decking and un-decking of trailers and heavy equipment, plus forklift and crane service and portable docks for unloading anywhere.

Secure Storage After

Our own fenced yard, trailer drop yard and dry or cold load storage, so the unit and the freight have somewhere safe to land.

How A Heavy Call Runs

From Your Call To Back In Service

  1. Assess On The Phone

Unit type, weight, load and position. This determines which wrecker and how much rigging leaves the yard.

  2. Scene & Traffic

We arrive marked and lit, coordinate with law enforcement and DOH if lanes are involved, and set a recovery plan before anything moves.

  3. Rig & Recover

Rotator, winches and cribbing as the job requires. Photos and documentation along the way for your insurer.

  4. Repair Or Store

Straight into our 24/7 shop for repair, or into the secure yard. Freight can transfer the same day if needed.

Heavy Duty FAQ

What Drivers Ask Us

How fast can you get to me?
It depends where you are and what the job needs. Call and we will give you an honest estimate rather than a number designed to keep you on the phone. Heavy recovery gear takes longer to stage than a light truck, and we would rather you know that up front.
Can you recover a loaded trailer without unloading it?
Often, yes. Whether it is safe depends on the load, how it shifted and the terrain. If it has to come off, we have portable docks, forklift and crane capability and load transfer trailers, so we can do it on site instead of waiting on a third party.
Do you handle the insurance paperwork?
We document recoveries with photos and notes and work with insurers and fleet managers regularly. Account billing and purchase orders are available — call the toll free line at (877) 841-0064 to set that up.
Can you get to a scene on a narrow secondary road?
That is most of our territory. We run US 60, the river communities and the hollows every day, so we know which roads a heavy unit can actually get down and which approach to take.
What if my truck needs repair after the recovery?
It goes straight into our shop. We run state-of-the-art computer diagnostics and do mechanical, electrical, air, brake, hydraulic and welding work, plus DOT inspections. See truck repair for the full list.
